Privacy Policy

Introduction

KaraoClip is a collaborative video greeting service. Organizers invite participants to record short videos, which are compiled into a single surprise video revealed to the recipient. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information — when an organizer signs in with Google, we receive their email address, name, and profile picture. Only organizers create accounts; participants and recipients do not.
• Chain content — the recipient's name, the occasion, the custom prompt you write, and the names you enter for each participant.
• Video recordings — videos that participants submit via their unique recording link.
• Analytics events — page loads, button taps, and upload outcomes, along with basic device data (browser name, device type, timestamps). We do not use cross-site tracking or advertising identifiers.

How we use the information

We use your information only to operate the service:

• Produce the compiled video and deliver the reveal link.
• Diagnose and fix operational issues.
• Keep the service safe from abuse.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell or rent your data.

Where data is stored

KaraoClip relies on the following sub-processors:

• Supabase — application database and video storage (EU/US).
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Railway — video compilation worker. Videos are processed transiently and are not retained on the worker after compilation.
• Cloudflare — content delivery for static assets.
• Google — identity provider for organizer sign-in.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for Supabase authentication. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site trackers.

Sharing

We share data only with the sub-processors listed above, strictly to operate the service. We do not sell, rent, or transfer personal data to advertisers or third parties.

Your rights

You may:

• Request access to the information we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Delete a chain at any time — this removes its slots, participant recordings, and the compiled video.
• Ask for a specific recording to be removed if you are the participant who submitted it.

Data retention

We retain chain data, recordings, and compiled videos until the organizer deletes the chain or asks us to remove it. Analytics events are retained for up to 12 months to help us improve the service.

Children

KaraoClip is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a recording, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
